Abstract: This paper presents a comparison of two models to solve a commercial territory design problem. The work is motivated by a real-world problem from a beverage bottling company. The first model uses as a dispersion measure, the metric from the well-know p-center problem. The second one uses the metric from the p-median problem. Experimental results based on real-world data indicates that the model with p-center metric is a better choice than the p-median according to some considerations.
