Romeo Sanchez is currently an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Program in Systems Engineering in the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the University of Nuevo Leon (UANL) in (Monterrey) Mexico.  He is a member of the Synergy and Optimization Research group.

 

Prior to joining UANL in 2011, Dr. Sanchez was a Computer Scientist at the Information Sciences Institute (ISI) for the University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Sanchez was part of the Multi-agent Coordination Research group, where he worked in the Criticality-Sensitive Coordination (CSC) research framework. CSC won two consecutive DARPA Champions recognitions for outperforming systems from other research institutions. For his work in CSC, Dr. Sanchez received two ISI Meritorious Service Awards from the Institute; and a Best Demo Award at the International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multi-agent Systems (2010).  

 

Dr. Sanchez received his Ph.D and MCS degrees from Arizona State University. His research interests include automated planning & scheduling, multi-agent

systems, intelligent visual interfaces, decision support, and more recently internet technologies and their applications to mixed-initiative frameworks and K-12 education.
