Roger couldn't play due to an injury. Rey was out too.
The returning players:
Chendo (17th season),
Barbosa (13th), Juanillo (12th) returning
from his adventure overseas,
Jorge (11th), Rey (10th) trying to return after
a knee surgery, Morro (8th), Eligio (5th), Mike (5th)
Beto (4th), and Zurdo (2nd).
Towards the end of the league season, Santiago Arellano,
better known as Chago made his debut in the team. We played real good in the Olympics, but had a very unlucky outing in the semi-final. So we had to settle again for the bronce medal. In the league, we came back with an outstanding season. We played at great level all season long. We had a tremendous closing, including a 4-2 trashing over tournament leader, Holanda. We earned the 2nd Place trophy and the Best Offense trophy after the regular season. We kept on rolling through the playoffs, and reached our sixth league final (eighth overall) in a dramatic 2-1 victory over Pisa. In the final, we grabbed our sixth league title (out of six) and seventh overall after beating Peñarol 4-1 in a very exciting match. With our second league title in our last three seasons, this group of old players do not seem to give it up any time soon.
