Comments
After taking a season off, we came back with lots of hope. The season was again a great one since UDA also returned to the 8-team Division 1 format, which was by far a lot better. There were also some of the old good teams that returned like Linda Vista, Real Cedro (formerly Econopartes), and Atlante, and of course the current power houses like Italia, Adidas, and Aeronáutica Monterrey. The showdowns were so promising and they were, just not with the outcome we wanted.

Mayo, Morro, and Gordo were no longer with us, but playing for Atlante instead. Rey found a job in Brownsville and left the team too. Armando returned to the team after three seasons off. Roger (10th season) also returned, but not at 100%, trying to overcome his back injury. Juan's friend, Juanino, made his debut as our goalkeeper. Barbosa was back too, but left after three games because of a new job. The rest: Chendo (10th season), Gil (10th season), and Juan (6th season). Unfortunately, towards the middle of the season, the injuries started to haunt us. Armando got hurt in his knee, out for the season. We had a bunch of players that came for try-outs but none lasted more that three games, except for Humberto Garza (Beto), a teammate from Santa Rosa who made his debut in the second half, and Fernando Guerra, an ex-teammate from our Viajes Kino soccer team, who joined us very late in the season.

Despite all of this, we really had good games, it was just that the competition was a lot tougher, and we were not consistent enough. We had several matches playing with one player short, or with no subs at all, and we paid the price. It was not a reason to brag about but we finished in last place, failing to make the playoffs for the first time in our last nine seasons. Still, we were not playing bad, and were looking forward to next season.
