Comments: It was a cold November night in 1993, right after we had finished our participation in the 1993 Intramural League at UT-Austin. We were having a cascarita at the UT intramural fields when a business-looking guy approached to us (Juan Solís, Alfredo and I) and invited us to join his team, Dumex, at the Austin Hispanic Soccer League. Little did we know abot the team but we signed for one season.

Dumex was formed mostly by guys from Durango (DUrango, MEXico). The team was as talented as irresponsible. We practically played with 9-10 players all of our games. Those few games we managed to play with our full roster we had outstanding performances against the top teams in the league. Unfortunately that did not happen as often as we would have liked to so we finished near the bottom of the standings.

After the team withdrawal with still three games remaining in the schedule, we (Alfredo, Juan, and I) did not renew our contract and decide to transfer to another team. In fact Dumex did not make for the following season.
