Comments: After leaving Dumex, Alfredo, Juan, and I joined this great team, thanks mainly to Germán, who was already a member of it at that time. Another of our intramural futbol teammates, René, also joined the squad. We started in the third week of action and could not help the team make the Cup semi-finals. However, this team was different, there was something special about it. After finsihing this Cup turnament, René left the team to search for fortune in other latitudes. We kept playing together in the UT Intramurals, though.

Comments: This was a great year. Early in the first half of the season, we had a tragic four-game losing streak. After that, the team really got it going and started to play very well. Although losing only two games of our last 20, we finished one point shy of making it to the semi-finals. Our team won the Best Defense Award by allowing 32 goals in 28 regular season matches.

Comments: We went thorugh a transition period where some players left the team, and some others came to try out. In the first Cup match, against Brujos, I suffered a severe injury in my right ankle that kept me out for the remainder of the season.

Comments: This was a great season from start to end. At times we even played like a symphonic orchestra. Competition was tough. Our offense was spectacular. We got the Top Offense Award (scoring 88 goals in 27 regular season matches) and Juan Salazar (aka Borre) got the Top Individual Scorer Trophy. Unfortunatley, we were defeated in the quarter-finals in a very exciting match against archi-rival Real Dolores, who would eventually grab the League Title. In the personal perspective, I suffered another setback in May when I had a season-ending injury in my right calf.

Comments: We kept playing our trademark football and captured our first title as we conquered the pre-season tournament. We kept playing very well thorugh the Cup and finally won the Championship with an electryfing victory in sudden death extra time over Santos. In addition, Borre obtained the Top Scorer Trophy again.

Comments: As a new team in this league, we were forced to start at Division 2. 24 teams were divided into four six-team groups. We were placed in group C and had to play in the regular season against Groups C and D teams. The top two in each group qualified to the quarter-finals. Since we started the tournament two weeks late, we did not get to play the first two games (hence we did not get any points out of those). However, we had a very good season. In our first game we played against my ex-team, Dumex. It was nice to see Daime, Jorge, and Carlos again. We finished in 2nd place in our group and advanced to the quarter-finals. Unfortunately, Camarones ended our race with a 2-0 victory in the semi-final. We grabbed the 3rd Place trophy by beating Brujos 2-1 to wrap up the season.

Comments: Competition was a lot tougher. We had very good games. In fact, we did play very well, but that was not enough to win the matches. I had to leave in the middle of the season as I was set to start my postdoctoral appointment in Houston. This was the end of my Austin era, which has a very special place in my heart.
